I would like to suggest after playing this game, we set up a server with rctf instaunlagged and i would like to say that in your next release can u guys plz add mods with the game so when ppl download it already has the mod in it. Im saying this because alot of new players try to connect to our servers and cant connect because they dont have the mod, nor do they know how to enable allow download in game options. It would be really appreciated if u guys add some of the most used mods with the game in the next point release.

I believe only if the mod and all of its contents (meaning not only the mod, but also maps, models, skyboxes and the like) are GPL'd that could be done.

No its not gpl its not copyrighted or anything and is a freebased public mod. I recommend adding it with the game or make the game so it has downloading on because alot of ppl to alot of diff servers with diff mods cant connect because they dont have that mod and they dont know what to do. Former q3 player as myself i would know whats wrong but new players wouldnt know so that would be a pretty good improvement.

No its not gpl its not copyrighted or anything Don't ask us to do something that would force us to stop distributing Open Arena. RIU IS copyrighted, bug them to release under the GPLv2. |

heh, doubt that could happen. it's trademark city. Plus SHA nicks a lot of code from a ton of non-Free resources (Elite Force anyone?)
i did attempt to code a similar mod for quakeworld once

Yeah, George Lucas would probably have a fit that he wouldn't be getting any money from the use of the light saber. Plus those sounds would be difficult to reproduce not having the broken microphone to reproduce the cool light saber sounds.

I can get a friend of mine to mimic them for you, he's the same guy who is the voice behind 'Crazy Frog' by the way  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be2AUvIZLtEThat sound was recorded on my computer with him, a microphone and a broken casetterecorder. I'm sure someone can do a new awesome mega-gun sound with a bucket, some beans and plenty of aircondition units. |

Yes, but nothing tops the original broken microphone being waved in front of a television, sound effects. Not to mention all of the DC and Marvel trademarks. Any of the super powers and likenesses used would have to have the original copyright holder's ok, etc. It'd be a huge hassle to track all of those people down. I'm sure someone can do a new awesome mega-gun sound with a bucket, some beans and plenty of aircondition units.
I think the vinyl seats at any fast food restaurant would have better reverberation. |
