The project manager is strict about music, so it would need to be in mod tracker format.. and there are some other restrictions which I can't remember but it would be cool to have some nice music.

Because its not free if it isn't in old tracker formats that aren't supported by modern music composition software and based around the horrible sounding freepats soundbase.

Can someone else convert my music into this format? I will try to find out how to do it myself though.

I would suggest using one of the modern xml based trackers like MusicXML that your composition software should support, just remember to record your own samples. If you don't use software for arranging your music and instead just record separate tracks and then mix them together in a program like ardour, well your music won't be accepted even if you include the full ardour project because there is no possible way to edit that and any belief to the contrary is absolutely positively wrong.

I'm lost. Can I not just convert an AIFF to this format? Why does it need to be exported as it?

That wasn't sarcasm, that was an honest explanation of the leader's viewpoint wrt accepting music. I'm lost. Can I not just convert an AIFF to this format? Why does it need to be exported as it? I don't know of any program that will convert AIFF to a tracker, you will probably need to use a midi/music layout program and layout the melody in that and then export to the tracker.

Nice tunes man. If there's a way to put together a lil .pk3 of your tunes for OA that people can download that would rock.

hm... thinking of the chances a good musician wants to contribute under a free licence AND uses a tracker format maybe it's best if we make a seperated music pack (.pk3 files) that includes non-tracker music (under creatice commons cc-by-sa licence?). I know this wouldn't be a longterm solution but at least we could have some nice music until there will be some serious efforts for tracker-music. creating the pk3-file wouldn't be a big thing. If I find the time I will make one for Tommy.
