Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I'm experiencing some troubles using a fresh 0.7.6 install on linux.

Running in console it says these messages:
Initializing Shaders
^3WARNING: no shader files found
Segmentation fault

The fullscreen opens and immediately closes with a segfault.
What should I do?

I have all requested libs, running on a GeForce2 MX400

I always segfault when I have no 3d driver installed. Can you run any hardware-accelerated gfx application? (anything opengl)

It's not finding the pk3 files I guess, but that would rather fail at default.cfg.

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

Sure I can... openarena 0.7.1 runs with no problems...

I'm running Linux (Ubuntu 7.10) with the same video card: GeForce2 MX400.  The 0.7.6 package works fine for me.  The correct binary is "openarena.i386" (unless you have a 64-bit CPU then I guess you should use openarena.x86_64).

Dunno what to suggest, try unpacking the ZIP into another directory and see if that works.  OK I just had an idea, before you try that, rename the directory ".openarena" (note the dot in the front) in your HOME directory to something else, as there might be some config from the previous version interfering with things.

He is only offering suggestions.

Why not unpack the folders and have a poke around if you are familar with unix. Segmentation faults are standard issue, means nothing.

ps. Remember check you drive space and all the obvious issues

And you sent standard output to a file instead of null ? What does it say?
