I tried everything- deleted the Game, other versions etc....
vm/ui.qvm dows not have a reconsigniable magic number in it´s header...

What about also deleting those other two Pk3s under "C:\Users\DT\AppData\Roaming\OpenArena\baseoa\"?
And then pasting here the console log again...

Then why OA still searches for them?
FTR, patch088.pk3 should be in this directory: D:\Games\openarena-0.8.8\baseoa\
NOT in this one: C:\Users\DT\AppData\Roaming\OpenArena\baseoa\

It seems to me you also deleted pak6-patch085?
0.8.5 patch is still required. Place it into the same folder of the other "pak*.pk3" files.

If you don't have pak6-088.pk3 anymore, then you are playing OA version 0.8.5 instead of current 0.8.8 version (does the text in the lower right corner or main menu say "OAX" or "0.8.8"?).
