Title: No sound in OA when audio player working Post by: Rajoy on November 22, 2008, 01:37:23 PM In Linux, when another app is working with sound, i.e. a player plays it, or Opera has played a sound, I have no sound in OA. I need to close every app that made a sound before I can get sounds in OA. This is very annoying. I assume that like some other old apps, it tries to take the audio device exclusively. What can I do to avoid this?

The main problem is openal! http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio#Configuration_of_OpenAL_for_PulseAudio Check this link maybe it siutes you distro to. Another option is use jack or artsd.
