Title: a noobish post Post by: Combine on March 01, 2007, 01:36:52 AM Hi, i'm new here...i want to try making a map, but dont know how :( i know how stupid this sounds but...i really have no idea how modding works. is there a tutorial somewhere here?
thanks for reading this desperate post PS I never see any servers online when I play the game :/ Title: Re: a noobish post Post by: Taiyo.uk on March 01, 2007, 02:06:50 AM Maps are mostly created using GtkRadiant, available here: http://www.qeradiant.com/ Google for "quake 3 mapping" or similar to find mapping tutorials.
Change the servers option to "internet" in the multiplayer options to see servers other than those on your local network. Those are probably the best tutorials in my opinion for Radiant, I even check up on some stuff if I forget anything from time to time, its pretty complete and has pretty much anything you want to know. With those tutorials, you can create a great looking map, trust me. Good luck on mapping by the way. And don't feel dumb, I was the same way many many years ago. You'll get the hang of it.
