Title: More Settings Post by: PWNAGE on June 01, 2010, 04:20:24 AM Here's an idea
Being able to set cl_maxpackets and s*** like that in the actual settings on the menu Just as another tab like we have Player Controls System Game Options Default How about "Online" or something with all the performance settings from the wiki DO NOT LINK[/b]) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Tweak](DO NOT LINK) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Tweak (http://([b) Also you should have a headmodel option in the player menu so we can change the headmodel alot easier instead of having to explain it to new players :) DONT BE ANGRY ;) Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Logan on June 01, 2010, 04:30:57 AM Sure, why not ;D
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: fromhell on June 01, 2010, 04:32:17 AM because head swapping is only officially supported for the missionpack's non-existent team models. Head swapping on OA dm models produces facepalm results, which is why it's not sanctioned in the menus etc.
NO DON'T CONSPIRE THAT IM GONNA WANT IT REMOVED FOREVER Title: Re: More Settings Post by: PWNAGE on June 02, 2010, 04:39:03 AM so what about the other options for online play
Also if this is happening be sure to add \cl_drawfps Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Logan on June 02, 2010, 04:52:39 AM Also if this is happening be sure to add \cl_drawfps Isn't it cg_drawfps ? Title: Re: More Settings Post by: ... on June 02, 2010, 10:51:25 AM Also if this is happening be sure to add \cl_drawfps Isn't it cg_drawfps ? Yes it is. ;D Title: Re: More Settings Post by: RMF on June 02, 2010, 04:22:34 PM it is, but whatever. I think pwnage is right that there should be such menu ;)
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: sago007 on June 06, 2010, 03:01:05 AM Most of the settings are in the menu. There are a lot of the settings on the tweak page that can make things worse for yourself if you aren't careful and don't fully understand what they mean.
The main problem with adding new items to the menu is that the q3_ui is not meant to be changed. I feel that I am wasting time editing code in it. I can understand why they ditched it. I see your pointThe main problem with adding new items to the menu is that the q3_ui is not meant to be changed. I feel that I am wasting time editing code in it. I can understand why they ditched it. And yes it is cg_drawfps my mistake Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Someone_mad on August 10, 2010, 08:12:55 PM It's true that it will be great to have access to more option without the consol, 'cause sometimes it's hard to remember the commands "\c_commandname". Like that, everybody can customise his player. (color name as well ^^) ::)
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Gig on August 11, 2010, 01:33:16 AM Someone is working to an external launcher (http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=3568.0) that should include many options that usually are available only via the console...
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Someone_mad on August 11, 2010, 11:15:03 AM It's good to see that and I've already seen this topic but, the "problem" (cause it's not really a problem) is that is an extern "options lauch". In game, it's quit boring to do "alt+TAB" cause we just leave the game interface... Can you see what I meeeaaaan? It's not a critic but a request! Thank's people. :)
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: RMF on August 14, 2010, 11:55:09 AM It's rather to use at startup rather than ingame I think. Settings won't be applied when you change them externally while openarena is running without /exec q3config.cfg anyway.
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: AmDDRed on October 31, 2010, 02:38:44 AM About additional options...
I guess it would be cool to make an option in menu for weapons: weapons to include/exclude, starting weapons, starting ammo, replacing default weapon on map... I think it would reduce the number of mods, that are different just with weapons - like instagib (saw|rail), instagibr (saw|rocketlauncher|rail) etc. Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Someone_mad on October 31, 2010, 04:30:43 AM I've got a question... How you make an 'autoaexec.cfg' file...?
Thank's people...! :P ±END¤CONNEXION± Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Udi on October 31, 2010, 04:39:45 AM I've got a question... How you make an 'autoaexec.cfg' file...? It's just a simple text file with OA commands in it. You can make one with Notepad or some other text editor then save it as autoexec.cfg into your baseoa folder (in Windows you should check if the extension is really .cfg not .txt). Title: Re: More Settings Post by: AmDDRed on November 03, 2010, 05:40:19 AM Also - with "friendlyfire" option shoud be "selfdamage" )
Title: Re: More Settings Post by: Gig on November 03, 2010, 07:00:18 AM At the moment, enabling or disabling damage to yourself is supported on Elimination/CTF Elimination/Last man standing modes, while in all other gametypes only when g_elimination is 1 (but this implies other big changes in the gameplay, since it removes all the items from the map!). In these cases, damage to self and to team is controlled by the elimination_selfdamage CVAR.
