Hi there,
Ive found a problem.
Im was testing today between OA versions 0.7.6 and 0.7.1 and i found out that 0.7.6 eats much more CPU power.
Im running dedicated server on winxp pro,system is AMD2000+ with 1024MB DDR Ram.
Before,i have runned multiple quake3 servers and there the CPU usage was not more then 20% ,even with up to 16 players in there at once.
Now running 0.7.1 with 2 bots in there,CPU usage is 8%.
On to the new version,same machine,OS etc.
Running dedicated,2 bots/no bots CPU usage is AT ITS LOWEST 49%
So Im thinking ,there is something not right here.
Someone any idea?
Something is eating CPU power for no reason.
(at least it looks like it)
I also found out that in the old version,if opening the task manager, the process CSRSS.exe is always at 0%
In the new version that same system process is always between 16 & 21 %
So i hope someone of the devs can take a look at this,so i can upgrade to the new 0.7.6 version without problems.
Im now back to 0.7.1 but thats likely not the idea of the devs to get people play the new version.

You can at least use the 0.7.6 pk3s with the 0.7.1 server

is that also for the pak7-patch.pk3  ?

Yes. The patch pk3 is also important to use from 0.7.6

Serverload on cpu is more normal now,even with 2 dedicated servers running
at the same time it stays low
Max CPU load is now 13%

is the same as with the original 0.7.6 .exe but cpu load is still lower
