Title: Color Post by: Flipendo on August 20, 2008, 01:14:03 PM 2 basic questions...
1.How does raising gamma constitute a cheat? 2. On the screen where you change your name select handicaps and choose your model, what does the color bar do? Title: Re: Color Post by: damocles on August 20, 2008, 01:32:51 PM 1) To put it simply... it's one way to defeat the purpose of shadows and lighting. It makes it easier to see things that other people can't (or shouldn't) see under normal circumstances.
There's much, much more to it, but, uh... I'll leave it at that for now. y'know what I mean? Example, see next post. 2) Currently, the color bar only changes the color of the railgun trail. [At least sometimes there's] no harm in asking, so feel free... Title: Re: Color Post by: fromhell on August 20, 2008, 01:51:20 PM 1.How does raising gamma constitute a cheat? it isn't. Raising intensity, or turning off lightmap is. We are not Challenge Quake3.Title: Re: Color Post by: Sharpflame on August 20, 2008, 01:56:12 PM For the colors, it's fun to set it to change the color to something when you push the aswd keys, sniping people gets more colorful.

Also, a very high cg_railTrailTime on, oh, Never Ending Yard. It's really, really cool, but then eventually with 4+ players, you can't see anything. :P are you talking here about color in names? You can use the console, like \name ^3Bartholemew becomes Bartholemew. Title: Re: Color Post by: SkullPad on August 20, 2008, 02:21:09 PM i still dindt figure out how to type ^ in OA because ALT+094 doesnt work...
