Title: Dark image in the salida1-DVI ATI HD2600
Post by: aprieto on November 27, 2008, 03:55:16 PM
Hello and pardon my language, is a translation from Spanish.
I have a graphics card with two DVI outputs, one for my computer and the other for TV. The problem I have is that viewing the image darker in the Pc that on TV, whether it becomes very difficult to play from the PC.

With other similar games do not happen to me. And I think the same thing with all versions of openarena.

I use Ubuntu 7.10 64bits and the graphics card is an ATI HD2600 XT

It can be?

If you do not understand what can explain graphically.

Bye

It's most likely because it's only applying overbright color correction to one display and not both at once. Try r_overbrightBits 0 for a more consistent look but you'll lack the volumetric brightness that gives the maps more depth.

As is done to use the r_overbrightBits?

Are you running the same desktop on both screens, or are they two separate desktops?

Is this fullscreen or windowed?  Some systems will have problems with having different brightness in windowed mode.

If brightness doesn't work, you can also run in windowed mode, open the (~) console, and run xgamma in a terminal (xterm) -- you should be able to adjust brightness this way in any window manager.  I don't know how well this works on multiple screens (see the man page) or whether the brightness will stay adjusted when you switch.
