Title: Open Arena & Windows 7 Post by: leveric on January 13, 2009, 01:41:15 PM I've been trying the Windows 7 Beta. It turns out it doesn't have OpenGL included in it, and thus I can't play Open Arena. Any idea how to get it installed?

Quote from: MaxxPro I have solved my problem. On Windows 7 OpenGL libraries looks ..\windows\system32\glu32.dll ..\windows\system32\opengl32.dll i renamed this libraries to glu.dll and opengl.dll ... so you may copy these two files to keep them under 2 different names. A Google search shows that AMD's catalyst drivers does not yet support OpenGL in 64 bit Windows 7 and some special 32 bit configurations.
From the release notes for Win 7 Catalyst 8.12 Preview Driver Package: Quote Open GL is not supported under Windows 7 - 64 bit editions. Title: Re: Open Arena & Windows 7 Post by: tab0reqq on January 15, 2009, 08:08:11 AM Im having almost same problem.
My specs: pentium dual e2160 4gb ram gf8600gt gigabyte ds3l p31 Windows 7 64bit After fresh installation - openarena worked 100% problems free. Almost perfect. Then i decided to change drivers (for sacred2) to newest possible from nvidia page - vista 64bit version. All worked - programs, games, Sacred2 and even OpenArena BUT... OpenArena has problem that makes unplayable. Screen flashes more or less like its refresh rate wrong. r_refreshrate (or how it goes) do not work (when i change to my LCD's one). Switching back to Windows 7 default drivers (from Windows Update) - BOOM. OpenArena works. Now i installed newest 185.20 beta drivers for windows 7 and... still same problem. Is it possible that this drivers do not support OpenGL ? Or smth ? I renemed glu32 and opengl32 to GLU and OPENGL, also copied it - so i have GLU and GLU32, OPENGL, OPENGL32. Still doesnt work.
