Title: Maps Not Displayed in Selection Menu Post by: Shael Riley on February 06, 2009, 06:07:22 PM The maps I'm putting in the BaseOA folder aren't displaying in the server setup menu. Neither are the new maps downloaded from game servers; they play fine on the server but don't show up for selection locally. I can load the maps in my BaseOA directory in-game from the console, but memorizing their file names is a royal pain in the ass. What the mess, yo?

About remembering filenames: You don't remember filenames you press Tab and the engine takes a guess. That way you get a list of the maps you have. With PgUp and PgDn you scroll on the console to see the maps you have.

Title: Re: Maps Not Displayed in Selection Menu Post by: sago007 on February 06, 2009, 07:59:05 PM What? Please elaborate on how to make the system guess. I'll try to explain it simple. This is a feature added in ioquake3 and a very useful one. This is called bash-style auto completion and can auto complete almost anything at all times except for callvote and kick. It will do partial completion or provide a list of possibilities if there are more than one choice. I think your mistake is that you press enter or you are missing the space before pressing tab. Bring console down: Shift+Esc Write "/map" Press space Press Tab (a list will be shown but the engine cannot know what mapname you will write and cannot complete anything) Write the letter 'f' Press Tab again Now if you have a 3rd party map starting with f then a list of maps starting with f will be shown if you only have "fan" the engine will auto complete the word "fan" Title: Re: Maps Not Displayed in Selection Menu Post by: Neon_Knight on February 06, 2009, 08:21:57 PM The word is \map, not /maps; and \devmap, not /devmaps.
