Title: Where did the downloaded content go? Post by: synaesthetic on November 18, 2009, 10:13:44 PM I was just meddling with importing some stuff from another game in the for of a package to download off a server. The package included a map, player model, and bot config. That much got passed off to a client without a hitch...but I can't seem to get rid of it on the client end for more testing (there's textures to add yet). I've caught on to the fact that where ever it went wasn't the game directory. Little help please....

Linux: For Linux the .openarena file is located in your home directory. Windows: In Windows, downloaded content should be found here: XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\OpenArena\baseoa VISTA - C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\OpenArena\baseoa Mac: /Library/Application Support/OpenArena Title: Re: Where did the downloaded content go? Title: Re: Where did the downloaded content go? Post by: SharpestTool on November 19, 2009, 11:01:56 PM lol.. It's not a dumb question man...
A NOOB question maybe!!! :) j/k...ioQuake3 changed up where files get stored and what not as you saw. It can make development as a hassle too...having to have 4-5 different windows open to get the right files from the right spots lol. Title: Re: Where did the downloaded content go? Post by: synaesthetic on November 21, 2009, 10:29:44 AM Dude I know. I'm just meddling around with the premise that anything for Q3 can be made to work with OA. I was thumbing thru some old utilities. I found one that'll convert Q2 to q3 and one for Half-Life to Q3. I've had like 12 windows open at once sorting things out. I got to the stage of assembling pk3s that get downed to the client. I've gotten 6 maps from Q3, with player models, a bot or 2. I was not expecting to find them in user specific application data. That's a new feature to me.
