Title: OAmme Weapon Errors

has anyone ever used OAmme and noticed that the team arena weapons are missing?


it says weapon10
          weapon11
          weapon12

are missing

is there a .pk3 file that contains each weapon so i can over come this problem while replaying my demos?

Uhm... I don't know if that will be fixable, considering that OAmme is an hack of q3mme, without having its source code... anyway, let's wait that OAmme creator reads this...

The Q3MME sourcecode is available, but it took the authors years to finally fix this GPL violation.

Meanwhile, could you be bothered to post exact error messages?

OAmme revamped, im using the same source brugal uses for his quakelive movie maker, with obvious changes

maybe you should find out, and download the zip i posted. install is pretty simple, extract it into your openarena installation. (if done correctly, wolfcamOA.exe is right next to openarena.exe) It's a beta, so gimme any results you find.

well it started but the program doesnt show anything but the console and that freezes and it shows no background as the background is like some error page openarena has in it so i didnt see any interface of the program or get to use it...


maybe its my computer

As i noted before, this is a test build, and was meant only for me. Since the thread was started to mention that OAmme did not support TA weapons / powerups, i posted the test build.

readme / credits files will be included in final releases and beta builds

There is indeed a bug. But the bug only appears with an empty config file (no q3config.cfg), so on a standard installation of OA it doesn't work. But with my config, it works, I can see the menu with the 4 entries (demos, setup, OpenArena folder, exit).

Here is the stderr.txt I get when launching wolfcamOA with an empty config:
(see the log attached to this post, it's too long to be posted)

Also, I tried to load a demo, but I couldn't even get one to show up, I always get an empty Demos screen, there's nothing at all (and I really tried to put my demos everywhere, included the folder opened by "OpenArena folder" menu entry, which as a matter of fact isn't even the real homefolder I specified at commandline - probably a bug due to an old engine here).

You said that it's not opening the correct homepath? In the stdrr it shows that your homepath was the appdata folder, which is what that menu entry should open. If not, can you specify as to which version of windows you're using?

As for the demo problem, wolfcamOA (oamme) creates its own folder inside of the homepath (ie: %appdata%\openarena\wolfcamoa) which will have the screenshots and demos directories.

As for the config bug. It does indeed work with an empty config (if you look at the uTube link i posted, i used my config wiper script before I started wolfcamOA)
BUT!! There is a cvar somewhere that messes up the menu, my play config for instance, messes up the menus where they appear black. I'm currently tracking down the cvar in question, but I'll have to go through my in-game config line by line.

With the directories I pointed out, I hope you can get a demo loaded and converted and provide some feedback. email me if you have any questions

Sorry I did not provide a descriptive enough detail of the bug.

What happens when using an empty config, is that the game launches, but either freezes, or get to be launched but with a blank (black in fact) window. The console can still be brought down, but there's a weird graphical trail following the console when it goes down and up.

About the appdata folder, I tried there too, but the demo doesn't seem to get shown. The appdata bug is not shown in this stderr log, I produced it with an empty config (by not redirecting the homepath, I have a special launcher that redirects the homepath to another folder where all my configs resides, when I redirect the homepath it works, but when I do not there's nothing on screen - the blank bug).

The problem with playing the demo is that if I use the redirection of homepath, it seems the engine can't find the demos (there seems to be a confusion, since I redirect the homepath folder, but the "OpenArena folder" menu entry still open me the OS %appdata%, so maybe I am unable to load any demo), and if I try with an empty config, I get the blank screen bug :(

I tried other commandline arguments (such as setting fs_game "wolfcamOA", fs_debug 1, net_qport, etc..), it seems fs_homepath is the one that fixes the problem (because it loads my config which must have a parameter set right in order to show the menu correctly - maybe vertex lighting?).
