Title: noob question
Post by: scentless on February 06, 2007, 08:48:29 AM
i grabbed a few extra maps in pk3 format, and read how to load new maps in the console, but every time i try to load a new map it's looking for a .bsp file by default.

how does one load a .pk3 file?

The bsp file is in the pk3-file.

If it can't find the bsp file then open the pk3-file with a zip-program and see the correct name of the bsp-file (it is in a subdirectory in the pk3-file)

The .bsp should be inside the pk3 in the directory called "maps", if its not there it wont be found.

The console (press ` to open it) uses tab completion - type /map (no cheats) or /devmap (with cheats) then press tab to see a list of all available maps.
