our friends of the H4L-Clan did set up a new dpmaster. I recommend you to set sv_master2 h4l-gruppe.org in console to see at least some servers when master1 is down. You got to click on internet, so that you see "internet(2)" in the server-browser. You are referring to dpmaster.deathmask.net, so technically "deathmask.net ('s dpmaster DNS/instance) is repeatedly down". There's no "the dpmaster instance" (aka highlander), but there's "the OA master server" (which may either be a dpmaster or quake3 master server instance as ioq3 supports both protocols). Oh my.
IIrc our friends of ioq3 also run a dpmaster instance at master.ioquake3.org (have not tested this with OA and can't remember what&why OA changed regarding heartbeat etc. right now). Then once again I recommend (the next version of) OA uses a sv_master1 of master.openarena.ws, which might very well just be a CNAME for dpmaster.deathmask.net while things are dandy. Your help was appreciated. I am glad you helped. However "master.ioquake3.org" does not help at all as no one has set any server up to report there. Also I doubt they support the so called 'protocoll 71'. The last time I spoke with someone closely tied with the ioq3 devs, it sounded as if they are not to glad about the "protocol 71" anyway. I am looking forward that openarena.ws sets up a master server. In the meanwhile I thank L0nestarr, he is running "the dpmaster instance" - the only one that is working ! In short: sv_master2 h4l-gruppe.org Thanks again for your help and your recommendations for what can be done in the future. I hope your resolution is not being unheard. Also I wrote to the ROFL-Server guys and talked to Sergei (supeR,Server), Zimmer (Zimmer's insta) and did set up the openmafia-servers. We got 19 servers that can be seen with sv_master2 h4l-gruppe.org so far.
