Title: Ultamite weaponry for OA 1.0

The weapons in OA are nice and all, but they get boring afte a while... Time for some new ones! (Or just make the Machinegun not a P.O.S.)

Assault Rifle: Fies at BFG 10K speed, but fires triple-power MG bullets. Uses bullets (Duh.)

Flak Cannon: Non-hitscan shotgun that does 2X damage. Uses shrapnel

Dual MG's: Exactly what it sounds like. Uses Bullets

Death Ray: LG With X10 Damage. Uses cells.

Razor disk: Non-Hitscan throwing disk. Bounces off walls. Uses disks

Flashbang: Excatly what it sounds like. Uses Flashbangs (Were you expecting somethng else?)

You may wonder how all these weapons will be incorporated into the game. I have a solution... Random Weapons. Instead of a set weapon for each area, the weapon that spawns there ranzomizes each time, and the same applies to the ammo. Here's a chart:

Shotgun: Common

Grenade launcher: Common

Lightning gun: Common

Rocket launcher: Uncommon

Railgun:Uncommon

Plasma gun: Uncommon

BFG 10K: Very rare

Nailgun: Uncommon

Mine dispenser: Rare

Grappling hook: Common

Chaingun: Rare

Assault rifle: Common

Flak cannon: Uncommon

Dual MG's: Common

Death Ray: Very rare

Flahbang: Uncommon

Razor disk: Rare

So basically you want UT2004 plus flashbangs.


By the way do you know how annoying flashbangs are in fast-paced non-tactical games?  Unreal2 weapons sucked in UT2004 because bots would just keep spamming FLA grenades.

This list evoke me the Xonotic weapon list (http://dev.xonotic.org/projects/3/wiki/Weapons). Several of them are very common but the others are so rare I never saw them in game when I played Xonotic.

Rare weapons are considered most of the time as an impractical weapon in most of the situations during play.

Yes.  C is important.

Especially for niche games.  You can't be an 'ideas person' alone.  Case in point, a lot of my own ideas in the Idea Pit forum have been self-implemented.
