Title: making a video (linux)

ok I record  the demo, and make the /video thing, that creates a .avi video, but the problem is that if i want to upload it to youtube is to big, and the qualify is the worst, how do I film a normal movie in linux?

transcode the video to use a smaller resolution than youtube's default.

You use /video as you have done, then you can use menconder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MEncoder) to convert it to a suitable size for your videos.
