Title: OpenArena should let the WindowManager handle special key combos Post by: Fuddl on August 04, 2008, 10:22:59 AM hi,
a user of Debian GNU/Linux reported the following wishlist "bug" in the Debian Bug Tracking system, so I forward it to this forum: Quote Hello all, I would like OpenArena to be more friendly towards the user and allow this: - Let [configurable] key combos (i.e. Alt+Tab) leak to the WindowManager, whether OpenArena is Windowed or FullScreen. (Or sees only key combos/strokes not useful to the WindowManager.) - If FullScreen, become a normal or iconified Window if it is no longer the Application the user wants on top of the others (with the focus). - Allow a (optional) mode when Windowed where OpenArena would not grab the Mouse Cursor. And Never Forget to release the Mouse Grab whenever not the Current Application. - Possibly (user taste) Pause on Current Application change. p.s.: I Imagine OpenArena should never be the Master at intercepting key strokes. I should be a Slave which cannot see Key Combos useful to the WindowManager. you can find the original bug here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=493739 cheers - fuddl Title: Re: OpenArena should let the WindowManager handle special key combos Post by: Case on October 16, 2008, 05:44:50 PM I too would like to be able to alt-tab

Which by the way bringing down the console lets you use external mouse Title: Re: OpenArena should let the WindowManager handle special key combos Post by: Fuddl on November 06, 2018, 01:51:34 PM Well, just 10 years passed since I reported this aaaaaand: In a Wayland session, e.g. GNOME3 on Linux, Alt-Tab can't be captured by OpenArena anymore but works as expected :)
