Will there be any modifications to the game progs, or will everything have to follow the original progs exactly, down to the same messages and so forth?

I might do some 'expanded' progs when the time comes, similar to how OA does (though not necessarily new gametypes, but maybe new monsters, optional gameplay and physics tweaks (i.e. no superman straferunning)

Ridiculous things not promisingly planned for 'expanded' but will be toyed with
- Theme skins for each class (medieval/meso/egypt/Tiberius Kirk) skins
- Mage class
- Bloodier gib effect, with sprites utilized in addition
- "Extra" sprite effects in single player
- New asia hub? Tiberius Kirk's too snowy.
- Bots?

We could use the bot code from OpenQuartz, FrikBot, assuming it
doesn't require major changes to make it work in the HexenII engine.

Interesting, though maybe a misunderstanding of the original question, I was mainly inquiring as to whether or not new designs for weapons/items/monsters have to fit the original names, i.e. if it still has to be a "Tome of Power", "Werejaguar", "Staff of Set", etc, or if it can be differently-named stuff that just happens to work the same way.

Oh that

well yeah, I would want to ditch names like 'Ravenstaff'. I don't like ravens. I would also rewrite the obituary strings because currently, they're retarded. "is now chunky salsa!" and "opens a can of whoop-ass!" is really dumb to see in a fantasy setting.

I was messing about and I made some crappy draft of a possible invasion game type by making mummies spawn all over dm spots - though since there's no mummy model I might have to make a quick, dumb, 'dummy' of a basic dumb monster that only melee attacks (like Hexen ettin, Heretic mummy/golem)
