Title: Welcome To OpenArena - an OA frag video Post by: Gerbil on November 10, 2008, 11:31:02 AM Well, WtOA is finally done :D :D Unfortunately the upload to youtube failed, so it got uploaded onto vimeo instead. Apparently Vimeo doesn't like gaming videos, so we shall see how long this stays up for. I am looking for another way to put this up right now. Hope you enjoy the frag video! :D
Played in the newest version of openarena - 0.8.1 This is basically made up of my first week or so of playing the oa081. Repta would just like to get a special thanks for being the model at 0:20 bgm1 - Ladies and Gentlemen - (Saliva) bgm2 - Click, Click, Boom - (Saliva) bgm3 - Trillium(instrumental) - (Woods of Ypres) Made and Edited by Gerbil. One frag on me by Repta at 3:35(the beginning of the second song) download it: http://files.filefront.com/WtOAm4v/;12314873;/fileinfo.html http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0DFH7AO6 the clips used and blargen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B8jgspJw5A Title: Re: Welcome To OpenArena - an OA frag video Post by: kick52 on November 10, 2008, 04:16:25 PM Private video on vimeo?
Title: Re: Welcome To OpenArena - an OA frag video Post by: fromhell on November 11, 2008, 12:56:54 AM Vimeo is very strict about content and they've been in the past against any game videos. Upload it somewhere else.

I posted it on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=41300290668 (http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=41300290668) - and linked it to Openarena group there. It's getting nice comments! Good thing about Facebook is that their video quality is _much_ better than Google's or Vimeo's. You can actually watch and enjoy it. For those who don't want to register/login to Facebook in order to watch, here's the HTML page that embeds the video - http://oa.thedimi.net/demos/gerbil_welcome-to-openarena.htm (http://oa.thedimi.net/demos/gerbil_welcome-to-openarena.htm) - and a direct URL - http://www.facebook.com/v/41300290668 (http://www.facebook.com/v/41300290668) Gerb should post a short tutorial/walkthrough on making such videos. I'm interested in tools used, etc. Title: Re: Welcome To OpenArena - an OA frag video Post by: cosmo on December 24, 2008, 05:19:14 PM As usual Gerbil you did a good job on that video. Very nice. :)
Title: Re: Welcome To OpenArena - an OA frag video Post by: RAZ3R on December 24, 2008, 05:31:27 PM I know it was only done over a week but still, lot of average frags... though a few nice rockets. Music syncing wasn't bad and faces/comments on video were a nice touch. I'd use cg_draw2d 0 next time though! Will make video look a lot better. Also maybe some q3mme and video effects? =)

Also maybe some q3mme and video effects? =) Ya, if I make another video, I will try to remove the average frags :P, it will be done over a longer period of time. I thought about using cg_draw2d, but I needed my timer in order to find what time each frag occured at in my recorded demo ;) I could try to do it with cg_draw2d for next time though :)sorry, I am a newb when it comes to video editing, what is q3mme? Gerb should post a short tutorial/walkthrough on making such videos. I'm interested in tools used, etc. I used "/record" to record a demo, I wrote down the times of interest on a piece of paper. Then "/demo <demoname>" to play it back, then "/video" during the times I had previosly recorded. This saved them as a .avi file. I then imported to iMovie, and did all the editing there ^_^Thanks for the positive input everyone :) Title: Re: Welcome To OpenArena - an OA frag video Post by: beerman on January 07, 2009, 04:22:21 AM Hey bro thats one sweet ass video i liked it... keep it up.. maybe mine and breakers *beer* trick video will be just as good :)
