Title: Testing server for beta maps is ready !

I tried to get recent maps which don't come with OA yet, if I missed some or if you want to add some just say it ;)

Some HTTP download mirror I use so that players can download them lists them, and is visible here :

thx cacatoes! was fun playing at your server.
i think that we found some minor things that could be done better in the maps we played.
the round one (dm-map like in a colosseum) needs an upgrade for the first floor. maybe 2 pads to get quick up and maybe more room in the upper place.

@cosmo: your new ctf-map look very, very good!!!

it is worth to take a look at cacatoes maptest-server!

RudyRailer these flowers don't belong to me. Although I retextured wrackdm16 I'm no spacemap lover. You won't see one from me. But thanks anyway. ;)

I have it, but I should talk with onykage to see if he's still working on it. Remember that it has some Q3 models, which will be replaced with -ish models.

BTW, if you'll be uploading q3dm6ish-ctf, I have uploaded a new version.

Try some grapple hook on these round teleporters when your near of it (map mckinleyish ?), it has a nice effect :P

It crashed yesterday (process still active, but server not joinable), for some unknown reason.
Last map loaded was ctf4ishum1, that doesn't mean this mal is faulty.

The map dm6ish-ctf , like dm6ish feel claustrofobic to me, the ceilings are way to low they may be 10% higher then they are now. and they may be roomier bigger  to all sides maybe 5 % bigger.

The ctf map itselfe is very nice  altough some black  areas on the walls, like cacatoes said earlier in a post.

About that crash, it seems to happen with oa_ctf4ishum1.
The only things I changed are :
- setting bots to min_players = 2
- setting pmove_fixed = 1
And I think the problem is related with bots, maybe it has to do with some incorrect build options for the map ?

I looked in the pk3 file: The map has no aas file and therefore no bot support.

That would be nice if these kind of things were handled properly by the engine. Some Warning would be better than ending up with a server unavailable ...

I agree that it should be handled better. I have never looked at the code but it is possible that it can be handled by the game logic.

I agree that it should be handled better. I have never looked at the code but it is possible that it can be handled by the game logic.

that would be nice. custom-(non-gpl)-maps sometimes has no bot support (missing aas). this could be chrash down the server, so it is impossible to run some maps.
other admins have the same problem.

if the server checked for an accompanying .aas-file before switching to that map might work as a way to not load those maps?

Ahm, I've uploaded a quick DM version of q3dm6ishv3, q3dm6ishv3-b1, could you replace it there?

I made a bit of cleaning, only rotating between some recently added maps, but you can call vote for past maps.

Beware though, some maps can't handle bots well, or have wrong spawn points, so the server is likely to crash !

I had it, but I thought there were just sources inside. I just noticed the big .pk3 ;)
Too late now, I think I have latest version for every map. But nevermind now, since they'll come into next OA version ;)

Well... most all the new versions are with that pack. :D
And one of the ideas of that pack is for my work to be continued by others, not to be halted, since I was stopping with mapping, at least by now. :D
So, someone can take some map(s) of that pack and work on it/them.
