Hehe, that looks nice, thanks.
I thought that was a new version of ps9ctf ; I'm uploading that to the test server ;)

Cool, good to have it testable right away. I only tested it with bots so far. (And they are retarded on the lifting platform :( )

For reference:
  • Need to add team overlay locations
  • A few trims on one side need to be a different texture
  • Bot Do Not Enter beside the lifting platform to prevent retardation
  • If anyone finds something bad let me know?

Okay, new version. Didn't wanna hesitate to get it up, sorry Cacatoes since you already got it uploaded :)
  • Team overlay locations added
  • Bots should be less retarded at lifting platform
  • Fixed minor texture wrongness
  • A few more lights
  • Added plasma cell ammo

Yes it was added, that's okay no worry ;)
I was planning some way to upload files on the server, but it may take some time.

As with ps37 and ps9, you have the hand to make CTF maps. I like this one. :)
One thing: this part is meant to be clipped, or there was to be some item, attraction, or simple strategy there?

(http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/3070/shot0020ib0.th.jpg) (http://img114.imageshack.us/my.php?image=shot0020ib0.jpg)

Also, I tested it only with CTF, but which other gametypes this map support ATM?
And last note: I notice that bots (at least at Blue Flag Side) when taking the flag only escape with the flag in one way, (right) they didn't take the other two routes. (Ramp -upper left- and left)

Heres a direct link to the file rather than jumping through hoops with rapid share.

Yeah AM the bots have been a hassle on this map (First time it's ever happened to me), but I am a little apathetic to the bots since I hate them online so I won't end up spending much time making them work perfect.

The upper area I decided to let good rocket jumpers get up to (it takes a perfect rocket jump), nothing up there but it is a little more realistic to not be blocked out so short. Otherwise you'd see caulk like in ps9ctf the one time :P on ps9ctf you could get a good advantage by being out of view while traveling with the flag, on here you are pretty much at a dead end :D

Oh, and it has spawn points for DM. Otherwise not really much gametypes, I didn't add anything else because the other gametypes are hardly even used from what I have seen.

Thanks for getting a better link to the map for me missbehaving!

no problem. anyone can use this upload space if they like. The password is: maps

http://allowdl.com/

If anyone uploads map updates to try out, then just name them accordingly, maybe with 'tmp-v1' or something in the file name. I wont delete any files as I'm going to fill this domain up with maps... cos all my map links are broken so just going to host the direct links myself

I played this map online already, it was a fun map ^_^

By the way, on one side's armor shard curve formation thingamabob, there are double so you can get way too much armor at once.

When (if) I update it, that'll be fixed, probably added one or two more lights, possibly more detail and there might've been something else I don't remember.

This map looks nice and has an interesting layout.
The yellow lights behind the grill is clever and looks great.

However I think the middle section needs work.  If you get the flag and follow the upper walkway, well you just reach a dead-end.  I know you can rocket-jump to the middle and rocket-jump again to the other side [a good map for practising that on :)], but it's not so good for newbies.

I suggest a jump pad at each dead end that takes you right across the room to the walkway on the other side.  Since you would be in the air for a long time, you would be vulnerable to attack (especially from rail-snipers).

The flag rooms could use some OA banners on the walls.

Last thing: the grappling hook might be fun on this map (just a thought).

Well, when people post maps here I tend to expect they are GPLed but you're right ;)

Some other free software projects admit any contribution which is not explicitely mentionned as "some_copyright" is following the project's default (usually free software) license. That may be silly (thanks for the pun :p) to ask after the license of each single contribution which is made (like each modification in the wiki, and so on) so people are expected to agree with "the project's spirit" when they participate, hence to release their work as GPL. That's a default rule, and if the contributor didn't intend to apply it then that's somehow his responsibility for posting it in wrong place ;)

Still, it's always better if the author can clarify the license of his/her work, otherwise it can be tricky to check.
If it's not GPL I'll remove it, although I think it is.

PsYthe posted the map and the source (it's inside the pk3) but in this case he forgot the license. ("COPYING" file)

It'll be forever or never until I get a chance to update any of my stuff. I don't have a computer. Perhaps somebody else can GPL the map(s)? I can't do anything as of now :\

GPLing on appeal is okay enough to me!

fromhell: will you include the neccesary file and commit it in the svn thread?
thx
