Title: dynamic light bug in quake3 or open arena?
Post by: KiAn on December 20, 2006, 03:30:22 PM
Creating a new map just found some weird behaviour in dynamic lights like the one of the rockets, when shot in a bright place you can see the light around it on walls and floor, but as the lightmap gets tarker, the light of the rocket gets darker too. Is that the same in the original quake3 or is it a bug in the new media files ? Wether is was present in the original quake3 or not, can that be fixed in the mediafiles and how? thanks in advance

I haven't much experiencie with the renderer part, is there somewhere to look at to fix it or some kind of workaround to make it work properly without having to change the client (media or qvm code at most)?

Yeah, it's an engine bug, but it's more of a Carmack engine design decision than a bug
