An example of this I see some times on the space map is when some one camps the rail platform and just gets frag after frag and has a score in the hundreds meanwhile there team suffers because they are a man down and if they do manage to win the person or person playing the game right often have low scores usually in the 30s or 50s but are usually the ones that captured the flag or defended the flag carrier and base.
For finding out who is the "best" there is only one mode and that is duel. For finding out who is the "best" there is only one mode and that is duel. Your argument only proves that score is not a good indicator of perfomance in a CTF game, which is definitely true. However, even if guy camping on the rail platform is not doing his job right, which really depends on the situation and what exactly he is doing, you should keep in mind that there must be someone to defend. CTF played correctly applies positions to players. Finding best players in team mode such as CTF is possible, but "best" as best in certain position, such as defense, middle, offence etc. Example being notional teams in QL or other esports titles, or look at football(soccer) or any other team sport game. But I see your point that it's not a good idea to hold a competition to determine who's the best CTF player. Most important result of the competition should be what team wins as it's team game type, even if it's randomly mixed "All Stars" teams participating. However competition still might have an award for best player(s) as the one who made most flag captures or the one who made most insane flag returns etc. Title: Re: Biggest CTF Match Ever Post by: Tiny on April 06, 2011, 02:14:40 AM And you could get a team with the " best players " , and that wouldn't be the best team, as in ctf, there's one thing more important than skills, it's called teamplay, and even the best players can get a sucky teamplay together :P
