Title: Translations (Brazilian Portuguese) Post by: Taylon on November 14, 2011, 06:29:51 AM Hello,
I would like to translate the game to Brazilian Portuguese, but I'm not sure if OA has localization support. I tried to find information about it but I didn't find anything really useful... So OA supports translations? How can I help? I have been working with translations in open source projects such as GNOME, Fedora, RPM, Yum, etc for a long time so I'm very familiarized with translations. If you want to translate HedgeWars you need to go to the HedgeWars site (http://hedgewars.org/). As far as I know, OpenArena currently does not support translations.

That's because I'm also translating HedgeWars and I sent the same kind of message to them some time ago, then I just copy it to save time but I notably forgot to delete the unnecessary part, sorry about that. Title: Re: Translations (Brazilian Portuguese) Post by: fromhell on November 14, 2011, 06:20:06 PM Unfortunately, id software aren't fans of string localizations (Epic was ahead of the game on that)
If I could, I would. But then there's this thing about mod compatibility that holds it back. note that Raven Software attempted to have localization in their idtech3 games, so there is a possibility at some point..... though it's most effective when combined with real freetype rendering. there's also this thing about pak purity and also bot chats.... |
