I suppose he tried to enhance it by giving a shadow effect... I don't know if that would be needed... in real world, when the moon isn't full, the dark part is not so visible... anyway that isn't Earth's moon and so in theory there may be another lighting source (a two-stars system?) that may enlight a bit also the dark side of the moon... regarding the op i'd like to see it with less ambient lighting when it's not full and with a texture i don't see repeating (so scale it up? might require making it smaller in the map's sky). textures might be modified from one of the planets at http://planetpixelemporium.com/planets.html. or generate your own textures using Planet Editor (http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2542) (GPL) or something similar (http://sourceforge.net/projects/fracplanet/, http://sourceforge.net/projects/planetgenesis/). |
