Title: No Exploding Bodies

i was on a server a few days ago and the bodies would not blow up into gibs after a rail what is the command for this?


i seen the q3 sourcecode and it showed 4 corpse at a time

There are several cvars:


com_blood - On client it doesn't show blood or gibs, on server it disables corpse gibbing completely
cg_showGibs - Makes gibs and their blood trails invisible on the client.

1 = enable | 0 = disable


In your config: seta com_blood "1"

from the console: com_blood 1


In your config: seta cg_gibs "1"

from the console: cg_gibs 1


However, even if you enable them, as FromHell indicated, the server admin can disable both from the server.

Will gibs be removed completely in 0.9.0/OA3?

For whom... You?  Here's a tip for anything in life - options will always appeal to more people as it satisfies different tastes.  Thankfully FromHell subscribes to that notion.

Your question was already answered, but since you can't make the connection let me spell it out - when you enable gibs bodies blow up (unless the server Admin disables it for his server), when you don't they lay on the ground and eventually disappear (there is a cvar to modify how quickly they disappear).

Couldn't remember the specific cvar at the time of my last post and it seems for good reason... there does not appear to be one for Q3 or OA.  The ones I was thinking of are specific to Excessive Plus (a Q3 and OA Mod) which has "xp_corpse" and "xp_corpseTime" and to Counter Strike "cl_corpsestay".

there aren't other cvar (in baseoa) for bodies, in addition to the cvar you have mentioned above. now, put your mind at rest.

Either he doesn't understand English, or he's just plain ignoring it and trolling us. To rule out the former, let's put it plain and simple.

On the server, use this:
com_blood 0


I don't know if it works or does what he wants, I'm just basing this answer on the first reply here (from fromhell).
