Title: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: nba.richforever on August 12, 2012, 08:22:45 AM ive noticed using alot of sets for servers creates server errors like this.
probably should be worked on in the newest version of oa sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" sets "*" ---------> Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: Gig on August 13, 2012, 12:46:50 AM An existing thread about this problem:
http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=4245.0 I suppose this is an engine-side thing that maybe may be fixed by ioquake3 guys... but before submitting the problem to them, I wanted to have more infos and opinions from OA developers (also considering that ioquake3 already created a new init string type (http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=4243.0), and I have not understood well what it "changes" and when OA will adopt it). Guys, if you wanna continue that thread, that may be interesting... Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: fromhell on August 13, 2012, 09:34:33 AM what a beautiful picture
Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: nba.richforever on August 13, 2012, 05:17:26 PM will anything be done with this?
im sure server owners would like to speak on there servers :) >:D Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: Gig on August 30, 2012, 12:48:58 AM Maybe Fromhell does not like threads in the wrong sections... You may try to open a new thread in the "development" section, or to continue the existing ones that I linked above...
Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: MegaAIM on December 21, 2012, 12:34:08 PM Your indeed right about the excessive amount of info strings. It seems theres a certain number of letters and space you can use for the info, such as the amount of space you can use while posting on a forum.

Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: Gig on January 23, 2013, 12:49:13 AM Do you know if ioquake3 1.37 will still have the same limit?

Title: Re: BUG: Info string length exceeded Post by: GrosBedo on January 23, 2013, 02:09:11 PM Do you know if ioquake3 1.37 will still have the same limit? I don't think so, but anyway even if ioquake3 would lift this limit, dpmaster would still have to update their software to allow for more than 1473 characters. |
