Title: patch mesh bevel question
Post by: baronofhell on April 06, 2007, 12:20:30 PM
I've never used meshes or beveling and I have a question.

If I have a platform that turns and I want to make the turn into a curve, how do I make the corner piece?

I get the corner curve by creating a square brush and beveling it. How do I fill the top and bottom?

You need to CAP it.

Select your bevel and do:

curve>cap selection

(or just press shift+c)

Job done.

Texturing will look really weird when you've applyed one, so you'll then want to select the top and bottom pieces and hit shift+s to bring up patch surface inspector then hit the button that says CAP. That will sort out your texture. (If for some reason it manages not to do that even though it should, you can use ctr+shift+n to cycle through texture orientation for patches).
