Title: New map - czest3ctf (Holy Wars)
Post by: Czestmyr on July 03, 2007, 02:22:40 PM
Hehehe, I have finished my new ctf map. Sent the pk3 archive to dmn_clown to commit it to the SVN...

Features:
- Relatively short, but easily guarded route between the flags.
- Other routes are more rewarding (quad damage, invisibility, rocket launcher), but longer
- Nice spots for snipers in the central room
- Custom made (but crappy ;-) ) fir trees
- BONUS: Hidden invisibility item. Try to find it (and don't look in the .map source)

I played it for a half an hour with bots and it is fun. But they tend to take the shortest route, so I can just stand behind the corner and shoot grenades at them. I hope, the map will get more challenging to play with human opponents. Best player count: 4v4 - 5v5

Attached are a few screenies:

This map looks quite good, even for DM.
Hope it makes it to the release :D

Seems funny :)

I have gone to SVN and I have seen two archives with the same name in the list...

Quote
# czest3ctf.aas
# czest3ctf.bsp

What is the archive that I have to download?

Thanks ;)

If you have 0.7 installed you can just do /map czest3ctf and see the map.

This map impresses me very much. It's large enough, certainly when you take along the side paths. The style is yours, which I like (ghotic blocktexures own). It has good lightning, and absolutely a nice layout with (finally, compare with the other OA ctf maps) more than enough paths to take for the flag carrier. Also, the middle part with the quad on top is nicely done. Its fun to see the quad in the lava beneath, knowing that some guy probably fell off after getting it :) Impressive job! This made me think about setting up some CTF group with some skilled players.

ps: Found the invis :D

-- Edit: UrKraFt, the .bsp file is enough to play the level though if you want bots on it, you'll have to download the .aas too. Btw there should also be a single .pk3 including all the files I think.
