Title: Latin American Server..
Post by: << ME >> on August 07, 2007, 09:00:43 AM
Hey,
I'm looking for someone who lives in South America and wanna set up a dedicated Server.
the thing is, the other servers give us a high ping, so its always a big headache trying to timing the shots, (i.e: the rail gun)
even using the ping-issues tips, we cant get a good ping, always higher than 250 or 300.
I have met a lot of players from south america, so, lets do it.

You may wondering why I cant set it up..? well, my router is a shit, the device and the company, and I have no money to change it, and some friends are in the same problem, Telephonic indusrty = SUCKS...

Thanks..!! ;D SudacaServer..!!

Chile, but I have no means to create a dedicated server.
I'm just an average user, so I can't do much actually.
:(

Though I feel a bit unconfident in CTF, I'll try later. Thanks :D

EDIT: I tried connecting 30 minutes ago, but it never made it. Is the server down?

1) Now you can enjoy a DM server and a CTF server
2) yes, sorry I had to fix some little things on the servers.

--GRASSHOPPER-- Servidor de America Latina (no se puede poner "tilde", no se porque!!)

Mmmm... for some reason, it still gets hung in the "Connecting" screen (tried both). They don't appear in the master server list neither.

Servers need +set dedicated 2 and seta sv_master1 "dpmaster.deathmask.net" to be shown in the master server list.
In this case it should be correct since I've seen the grasshopper server on-line. The reason that you can't connect is that the server is not entirely dedicated but rather running processes on the same machine as << ME >> is using to play on. Or in other words, the server isn't on-line all the time.

thats true, hahaha, Im using a laptop, so, its hard to me keeping the servers ALL the time running..
but the server is ok, and works.
I have some problems with my router`s DNS cause this telephonic company sucks.
anyway, Im working on it.

Most ISPs in latin america are only connected to the United States so its pointless most of the time. A few countries like Brazil are an exception, but if you are in another neighbor country its always faster a server in USA or Europe than in Brazil.

My country rarely sees pings under 180ms so its mostly the same anyway.
