Hi OA people !!

I will like to know if the dev team is planning to introduce some language support for the game.

I am a french from Quebec (yes it a province of Ca$nada)

I pretty sure by adding some languages support OA will gain some world attention....

May I suggest to make some manual for the most common subject (dedicated server, set-up GTK, mapping, general config, etc)
I know all those info can be found here, but a manual will be cleaner and more structured. And yes, we can translate it !

Thanks for your time,
Gabriel aka Gabuche

Sounds like a good idea.

If your willing to put in the hours to create an appropriate structure to the documentation I'm sure people will be willing to support you and contribute to it. Smiley

foreign language support would be VERY VERY hard to implement (i.e. moving all strings to readable text header files, supporting accents and other additional characters)

it'd probably be feasible with FreeType support but that's not on the roadmap anywhere near soon due to compatibility reasons among other things

Though, I'd like to play OA in mandarin too Smiley

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

It's not my language either, so I stick with english. I do learn french but, please,
if you can't speak english, go and learn it, becouse you will need it out of the
game very very much.

"Translation support. cgame.qvm and ui.qvm can be translated, though they won't be so compatible with most pure servers that run on English, and versa."

right, but it is doable. it was one of the first things that raven did when they took up the q3 engine..
anyway, probably there are things more important at the moment.

when the code will be ready i'll be there for the italian strings. ;-)

right, but is nicer to play a game in your language...
