I downloaded that map to learn how to strafe jump. I've read some guides and watched some videos but I can't reach the second platform in neither "Basic jump" nor "Strafe Hall". However, I can strafe jump forward pretty fast. So my question is is it possible to pass all the "trials" in that map in OA? Or does quake work a little bit different?

Well, I don't care if it's God's own personal anti-son-of-a-bitch machine, or a giant hula hoop, we're not gonna let 'em have it! What we will let 'em have is a belly full of lead, and a pool of their own blood to drown in! ....

I believe physics in OA is no different than Q3A.
You framerate (fps) affects the physics, may need to use /com_maxfps 75 or /com_maxfps 125. [I'm no expert on this "magic"]. If your computer is too old to reach those framerates, then you will jump a little less high and/or a little less distance.
But it is most likely just a skill thing. I can pick up a lot of speed strafe jumping forwards, but I'm not fluent with getting over certain gaps (e.g. in PS9CTF jumping from the flag to the nearest curvy bit in a single jump, which the very good players I've spectated can do effortlessly).

Try defrag to learn more tricks and watch good players. Like it was said before the framerate is important for tricks: having 125fps is mandadory for a lot of tricks. I will not give you the configuration item to get 125fps, I don't want to be ban There is no difference between OA and Q3, you can do same things with both engines. Train on your circle jump and you will improve, that's only training

Ok, Ill keep training of course. Im running a steady 90 fps without modification. I dont understand how fps can effect the gamespeed but doesn't matter. Ill look into it. But is it considered cheating having 125 fps?

Some cvars at certain values (or upper to them) can disable things like shadows (or color-flatten walls) on maps and the like. There was a huge drama with those settings as well. Plus, there's problem with vertex lighting on some maps, for example terrain ones, which makes some shaders to disappear, for example.

I don't quite understand what you mean.
Anyway I read about 125 fps and it says that it's only 1 height unit higher that 75 fps. And since Im running 90 on default there's no reason to change right? One unit = almost nothing right?

Are you kidding?
No, and you? Think about verte... On the other hand, I wouldn't be so sure that OA physics are exactly the same as Q3's. They use a different engine, after all.
I can confirm that this is the same physic. ioq3 share the same code that GPL version of q3a.

I don't guess you will be banned because of it, (unless you're willing to do a "keep vertex light" campaign or something like that) the most bad thing which can happen is that fromhell appears and cuss you because you support vertex, as it happened in the past with many others.
