I got a new problem, after i load defrag, osp crashes when i load a level and attempt to play it. Then im forced to restart the computer to fix a brightness problem with the desktop. I prefer osp to cmpa in open arena because its more compatible, and the models arn't messed up. Can anybody help me fix this problem? The only solution i found so far is to delete defrags config every time i load it, which i want to avoid. help?

edit: on an unrealated note, im looking for the best non-pure servers. all of the popular servers are pure servers, which I cant stand because i want to see my texture mod (no, its not a cheating mod)

I don't understand what you want to achieve. Both Defrag and OSP are mods, you either play one, or the other. So if you load Defrag, OSP should exit, and then you cannot load a level with OSP. Switching mods won't crash the game, I've tested with Defrag 1.92.01 and OSP 1.03a.

no no no, i run defrag at least once, then i exit defrag and go to osp, and when i try to load a level it freezes. I know that defrag's config is the problem.

This is a well documented-legacy issue from q3 1.32 / ioq3 1.36 and lower.  Sorry, don't have a link to post, but what you are experiencing with the different configurations screwing all the others up is normal.

What you SHOULD do.

1. Start the mod directly from a command line using the "fs_game" parameter.  eg: C:\blah blah blah\openarena.exe +set fs_game "mod_name" .

2. Always, always, quit q3/ioq3/OA before changing which mod you are running.
