Ive Been Apart Of OpenArena (The game) for about a good 3 years started at about 12 and my friends shared this game with me and it came with new maps that he added into the baseoa folder it also included download models and i was wondering how come i cant see or use some of the maps and models such as "simpsons map" and "batman model" (those arent the names of the files just the charcater) How come they dont show up on my player model screen or on the map select screen?


Please Please Reply To This Read it Through I Want to get this probelm fixed or know what i am doing wrong.

Try cleaning up the baseoa folder. (i.e. delete every pk3 file except the pak0-6)

A map or model may be screwing up the game.

BTW, the next time you want to report a problem, go to the Technical Snafus subforum, NOT this one.

Hey, what about starting threads in the appropriate section? This section of the forum is about ideas for very future versions of OpenArena. Your post should have been posted in the "technical snaufs" section.

Anyway... where did you place the "pk3" files? Under you installation folder or under your "DO NOT LINK[/b]) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Homepath]homepath" folder? The "homepath" folder is different for each user of the computer: files automatically downloaded by a user aren't automatically available to all the other users of the machine.

And remember that many maps are not shown in the "singleplayer", "skirmish" and "multiplayer/create" (this because their autor did not create a .arena file for them, if I'm not wrong)... but you should be able to see all of their names, bringing down the DO NOT LINK[/b]) h t t p s : / / openarena . wikia . com/wiki/Command_console]Command console, typing MAP and then pressing spacebar and then the TAB key.

Or perhaps the author did an arenas.txt file instead of an <mapname>.arena file, which is the source of some problems.

I TOLD YOU IM QUIET NEW @GIG i didnt know we had a section for it and i cleared out my openarena i started all over and made it from scratch i have a back up for it and i just want to know what the problem is


Can you guys list some sites where i can get maps and stuff from?
