Wohoo, at last. It took some time - had problems with the cam and the hosting - but it's up now.

What's this?

This is a photopack in .tar.bz2 format (every decent extractor such as WinRar will do it), with 650MB or 259 high quality JPEG photos made in Bulgaria (Sofia, Varna, Targovishte, Goljamo Drjanovo), taken with a Sony DSC-W50. Here are some examples:

And... what's this for?

This package contains lots of reference pictures for textures and some inspirational pictures.

Cool, what about licensing?

Since I'm a fanatic, there'll be three possible licenses. Either the GPL v2.0 or newer and/or CC-by-SA 3.0.

Ok, where can I download this?

Sounds really nice, good job. Would be nice to know which license you decide to go for before I start downloading this pack.

He's tri-licensing the photographs, which license you choose is up to you.  However, CC-by-sa 3.0 licensed work will be rejected without discussion by this project.

Thanks, it is refreshing to see someone not only complain about FOSS art, but to do something to help improve it. Smiley

I guess its OK if its still triple licensed after being worked on, so the next guy that works on it still can pick his license. Not that I'm going to work on the graphics... my graphic skills is practically non-existing unless you compare to my music talent. Just a thought.

I guess only GPLv3 and never would be a problem too... or are the project moving to it?

That's up to the artist.  Personally, I'd just pick a license and stick with it, makes things easier.

There hasn't been any serious discussion about it.  I'd like to move to v3 without any added restrictions as it clarifies a lot of things that v2 leaves ambiguous, but I'm not the only copyright holder here and having several licenses within the content isn't the greatest of ideas.

Sorry for the bump but only the tuxfamily.org link is alive, the other two are dead.
