Been working on this map for a short while. Its a small DM map in a figure of 8 style.

I'll release a test .pk3 once I've done a proper compile.

Until then heres some screenshots!

Looks good so far. I like the lightning in some of your shots.
If all of the hallways are so narrow it might be a gameplay issue.
Are those health items difficult to reach?

I'm looking forward to get a playable release of it.

Kind of, There suspended over a Cable, if you fall of your going to sizzle. But its not difficult to get them tho. Unless its a heated fire fight...

I started setting the map up for bots & they seem to move around the map easily.

I haven't gave it a final compile, but the map certainly has some intense fighting. Mainly because everyone is brought to one specific area. Where it goes crazy.


Heres the .pk3 for those that want to try it out.

Start the map with /map base1

Hey,

I like small maps. I gave it a try and I really like it.
I hope to be able to give you a few hints.

The rocket cage is great! I even got the invisibilty above. It would be great to be able to get to the room there. Maybe you can make that possible? More vertical action in general would be great.

All your items seem to float. Do you have suspend set everywhere? And there are way too many items.

Everything is a bit too narrow for my taste so dodging rockets is not easy.

The corridor with all those pipes looks great as well. You just need to clip the pipes so nobody gets stuck.

I was thinking of allowing access up there but I felt that if I did so I'd have to create extra rooms & expand it slightly - which kind of removes from the figure of eight style the map has.

Tho the map does have potential to expand into that area later on. Wink

Yeah they all had suspend, I've now modified all items appropriately.

I clipped the rocket cage(next release), cause I found myself getting stuck there. Tho I never had problems with the pipes.
New release I've done some extra clipping.

I've done some modifications & I'll be releasing it once I've finished setting up the .arena files & levelshots. Smiley

Changes:

Clipped pipes, rocket cage, and a few other stuff.
Allowed access to the second level of the rocket cage.
Removed Suspend from a variety of the weapons.
Reduced the .aas file size.
Modified certain map areas. To look right.
GPL'ed
