Hi to all! I'm new, sorry for my bad english, I'm just an Italian guy Tongue
I have two question for you..
The first:
I have an old notebook with P3 1ghz processor and the video schede is sis 630 wich has 64mb condivised memory.
It seems like the graphics controller doesn't support opengl because i have the "famous" error "couldn't load opengl subsystem". Can I disable the opengl or my old processor could make lags? If i can use not the opengl... how can i do it?which parameter must i edit?
The second question:
With my desktop computer i think the game will work correctly...
And I'd like to do the first italian site complitely dedicated to OA..Could be it "recognized" official, after that an admin will see it?
sorry again for my bad english...
Good evening to all! Wink

have u installed the correct drivers for your video card? downloading the drivers for your video card from the manufacturer should fix that problem...

Also, check the openarena site. They have solutions for problems like these in the FAQs section

thanks for the reply...

From FAQs
Quote
I get the error message "could not load OpenGL subsystem"

    * be sure you installed your video card driver correctly
    * some current settings in OpenArena may be incompatible with your graphics card. Make a backup of the file q3config.cfg and delete it in your OpenArena folder.
    * if you are executing it under Windows, be sure not to use Microsoft graphic drivers. Use drivers from your vendor. ATI NVIDIA

- the driver is the last...I think correctly updated
-where can I find q3config.cfg?
-I haven't ATI or NVIDIA... Tongue

I have no 3D card / No OpenGL acceleration !

Try running the game with this added in the command line (remove backslash and carriage return) :

+set r_allowSoftwareGL 1 +set r_mode 0 +set r_lodbias 4 \
+set r_textureMode GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST +set r_picmip 2 +set r_vertexLight 1

if there aren't other methods...
How can i add that phrases in command line? :S
Thanks again!

For the command line(linux):

./openarena +set r_allowSoftwareGL 1 +set r_mode 0 +set r_lodbias 4 +set r_textureMode GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST +set r_picmip 2 +set r_vertexLight 1

For command line (Windows):

openarena +set r_allowSoftwareGL 1 +set r_mode 0 +set r_lodbias 4 +set r_textureMode GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST +set r_picmip 2 +set r_vertexLight 1

If your wondering on how to use the command line there are some tutorials that teach the basics for which ever O/S you use.

Been doing some checking online and your card should support 3D acceleration.
