I'm a newbie and wondering, why the bots act so really fast. Is there a parameter, that sets the speed of the bots ?

i see no problem. bots are same as on quake3 (except cpma bots 10-100).
i have heard of the speed issue though on other games- processor or videocard issue, but i never experienced it myself.
also check if your /timescale is set to 1
back on some mod there was /bot_speed, but oa dont have it

Select the "I CAN WIN" difficulty when you start a single player game, and the bots will behave very nicely, barely shooting at you.  Good for target practice.  When you get bored of that, move up to "BRING IT ON" difficulty.
