I noticed watching an online game that only the weapon is visible from a bot player named "Grunt". I understand Grunt does not exist anymore in v0.7.7, which I use. This explains why some players are invisible all the time. Rarely, but it does happen. It's obviously fun to make them your favorite target. I only hope everybody does the same. Wink

What can I do to have them visible? How do I specify a default player model in case a player has an unknown player model?

Thanks!

I don't remember exactly how I "upgraded" to 0.7.7, I certainly did not use an installer. Some configuration files are probably the same (in ~/.openarena).
Do you use 0.7.7? Can you see Grunt when you play online?

First you upgrade to 0.7.6, THEN you upgrade to 0.7.7

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

I probably missed the note that we should stop using the ioquake* executables. I copied the 0.7.7 files over 0.7.6 and the main screen was showing 0.7.7 so I was thinking the "upgrade" went fine.

Why are there no openarena-smp* executables anymore?

I choose not to compile them. They have always been considered experimental and just gave more files to choose from.

They can still be compiled from source if you want them.

I ran the old ioquake-smp and noticed only a single core was running at 100%. I'm not sure what the advantage would be to use the smp version.

BTW, the README file could mention what the different executables are for, including oa_ded* - it would just save the trouble of searching on the website.
BTW2, I'm wondering whether a COMMANDS file with all the commands you can use in the console would be a good idea. I think it would.

Thanks!
