Author Topic: OA hangs in "awating gamestate" when I try to join a multiplayer server.  (Read 9158 times)

Debian GNU/Linux, OA v7.7 (downloaded OA v7.6 from official OA site, and applied the OA v7.7 patch).

When I go into the Multiplayer section of the menu, and I try to join an internet server, the game gets to "awaiting gamestate" and then stops.  I've tried giving it several minutes, and nothing happens.  It doesn't lock up, if I hit escape I get back to the menu, but it will not connect to the server.  Trying different servers all seem to give the same result.  What's wrong?

The server is wrong (it happens sometimes with mines, but I don't really know why, could be some .pk3 of custom models which are wrong).
Sometimes, it's also the map rotation which is buggy, if the server admin wrote a bad config file.

I'd recommand you to try other servers, and eventually try to contact the admin of the server (or see if other players manage to join the server).
If you get this problem with every server, can you confirm you see a 0.7.7 version number on bottom right corner when you launch OA ?

hello, I have the same problem. Surely it had not applied the patch correctly. Although in the bottom right corner leaves me 0.7.7
