Does anyone know if it is possible to play OpenArena in anaglyph (i.e. red/blue glasses) 3D?

I seem to remember reading that it was possible to do this with any OpenGL application using some sort of driver option or plugin on Linux, but I've been unable to find it.

The only references I've been able to find are a patch for quake 2 (http://www.jfedor.org/red-blue-quake2/).

Can anyone tell me if this is possible, or did I just imagine it all?

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

I don't know if it is possible with all openGl apps.

If you use the new binaries ( http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=1933.0 ) then you can use it by setting some CVARs

It supports 3 different kind of glasses but I believe red-blue glasses is limited to grayscale although I have never tested it.

playing openarena in anaglyphs sounds like a cool idea. i'm going to search the forums for "anaglyph" and see if anything turns up. Smiley

Okay; I've done some digging around, and it's not possible with the current release (0.7.7).

But you can do it with the current test build (see http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=1933.0), and will be able to in 0.8 (the test build has a bug that stops the crosshair from working)

Someone has also got it to work by using a modified ioquake3 binary directly to run the OpenArena PK3 files: http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=1993.0.

Now I just have to see if it actually works…

The current crosshair cannot be rendered in 3d and need some new game logic to work. This is not the binaries fault and it will not work in most mods even after 0.8.0 is out because the mods will use old logic.

It works brilliantly, aside from crashing repeatedly after a few minutes and taking down my computer with it.

I can't wait for 0.8 to be released and working. Double Domination is very fun, especially in real 3d.

IOQuake3.org added Stereo 3d, and Ryan "Icculus" Gordon just added preliminary support for VOIP!
A good day for all the ioq3 based games.

Icculus and the IOq3 team kicks ass, along with the Open Arena Team (of course!)
