After a long time (?) I've decided to make a skin. End of the story. Tongue

This is a skin for Arachna, inspired in Beast Wars' Blackarachnia.

I've used OA's SDK, which, for some reason, covered her head, something I don't want. :S

And before you tell me, yes, it needs A LOT of polish, but in-game works very well.

D/L link.

If painting in Blender you'll need to check RGBA before saving to get your alpha channel
also you need to arrange a .shader and slap a alphaFunc GE128 on the stage.

OK, I don't know what the hell I did, but suddenly, these messages appear: :S

unknown token 'fixedtorso' is models/players/arachna/animation.cfg
unknown token 'fixedlegs' is models/players/arachna/animation.cfg
unknown token 'fixedtorso' is models/players/arachna/animation.cfg
unknown token 'fixedlegs' is models/players/arachna/animation.cfg

I don't know if this is related to the skin... seems not, but the other skins work well...

Well done!

But the black parts are realy black, which could give this model a prob in online gaming (best places for this model will be dark ones Wink ).
And unfortunately you modified my "hating" model, because the hitbox fits not well to it Cheesy

My idea was to play around while creating the skin. I haven't replaced anything in the model.

I'll redo the black parts to be lighter.

Good skin , I like how you modeled it after the original Blackarachnia and not the later ones that didn’t look as cool. Also I am having some trouble seeing the details in her face it just looks all black in the screen shots.

I'm going to be honest to you: I love Transmetal!BA from the second half of the third season more than the black and yellow one.

[offtopic]
Though I still think the third season could have been cooler if it was two separated seasons instead of cramming lots of stuff into one season.
[/offtopic]

And the face, well, I don't know why that happens, I did a shader, but it screwed with something, because I can't see the body. :S

Okay, time for not only a small update, but for help asking as well. :S

I'm attaching the newest version, but the body doesn't appear. Any idea on how to solve this?

Head this way for the latest version

Looks nice.

After you finished the main, you could recolor the orange glowing parts as teamcolors for the nice teamskins.

a3
- Fixed the body not appearing. Thanks to Graion Dilach for this one!
- Fixes a problem with the old package, where the body has the mesh all over it.
- arachna/bwidowblue added. It's inspired by Transmetal!Blackarachnia.
- Sources. Which means, both skins were redone from scratch. And, in all honesty, they look better.

Bugs:
- Hair is not appearing. I tried to use an old one, with no success. -.-

To do:
- Organic!Blackarachnia from Beast Machines as the Red team's skin. (I can't be the only one who liked that sequel!)

For these skinnings I've just used one of Gimp's default brushes with different colors. And, I have to admit, looks neat in-game, for such cheapness. Tongue

This way for the latest version

Have you thought of maybe making a skin of her, in her transmetal look (.http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:CrossingtheRubicron-newbody.jpg). Also I like the changes you have made and the face looks good

Oh, yes, this one's stagnant.

Screenshots are from an Under-Construction remake of am_lavactf for OA3. It will be a lot better, it didn't make it in time for 0.8.8. (There were previous versions, but I'm dropping the one-floor scheme for a two-floor one)

First things first. The two previous skins now have hair!

And now, some early screenshots of arachna/bwidowred, a.k.a. "Beast Machines' Blackarachnia":

What I want to do, in order to finish with this homage? Give each skin it's own hair color. bwidow and bwidowred should have black hair; and bwidowblue should have gold hair. And that's it.

I know soon or later someone is going to ask you this, so it might as well be me do you plan on making a skin for her in the tradition black and red black widow colors.

I always think of her being black and red and pissy that she didn't get a transmetal body.

Time for a new update. (screenies soon)

- New skin: arachna/bwidowrage, based on WingedPanther's idea.
- arachna/bwidowred included in the pack.
- arachna/bwidow and arachna/bwidowblue have hair. Blue hair, but it's hair, at least.
- Each skin has a proper icon.
- Includes four bots, each one with a different skin from the pack. These bots use Arachna's regular AI.
