I get a space when I check the processes running on oa.. for eg..

/games/ oa_ded.i386

I think it started happening with 0.8.0 but causes problems with my games controller and mods. :S

I've asked people but noone seems to know what's causing it or how to fix.

Can you paste some ...
Code:
ls -al /games
... and some ...
Code:
ps aux

Do you use a script to start the server ?

Happens manually too..

Code:
root: /games/openarena-0.8.1# ls -l oa*
-rwxrwx--- 1 gc gx 1147324 Oct 20 21:36 oa_ded.exe
-rwxrwx--- 1 gc gx  772090 Oct 20 21:36 oa_ded.i386
-rwxrwx--- 1 gc gx  948638 Oct 20 21:32 oa_ded.x86_64
root: /games/openarena-0.8.1# ./oa_ded.i386

root:~# ps -ef | grep oa_
root     11515 21806  0 10:45 pts/0    00:00:00 . oa_ded.i386

Code:
root:~# ps -ef | grep oa_
root     11515 21806  0 10:45 pts/0    00:00:00 . oa_ded.i386

I'm running ./openarena-0.8.1/oa_ded.x86_64 and I also notice a slash missing:
Code:
$ ps -ef | grep oa_
oa       23719 23718  8 Nov13 pts/0    00:48:22 ./openarena-0.8.1 oa_ded.x86_64
But I did not notice any problem. The cpma mod I'm using works fine.

What problem are you actually having, what doesn't work?

This dot could mean something like "your process is run inside a shell", which doesn't help you, but if you need to parse that I'd suggest you to drop what your script reads until it meets oa_ded.

If I start 071 then it shows as: ./ioq3ded

When I put the full path in for 080+ it shows as:  /games/ oa_ded.i386

I'm running debian and no other process is displayed like that Sad
