Single player -> Skirmish -> Next
You see "<red>oana" instead of "<blue>^1oana".

This might be somewhat related: When a bot is talking (in public) and it's addressing a message to a specific player by using the name of that player in the message, if the name of the player contains colors it appears wrong. I'm 99% sure it's distorted the same way.

I don't actually care about what a bot is saying, or about that skirmish menu, I'm only reporting this because, as far as I can tell, the same ..parsing mistake.. appears in the dpmaster.deathmask.net page, only for OpenArena, not for the other ioquake3 games.
