I created this cross-wires for use in Open arena even personally :

Svg : http://www.mediafire.com/file/imh0zvkomjx/Cross .svg

I created it so that when you aim it is not confused with the present and texture thanks to the variety of colors that have, in fact, has all the primary colors in the central and gradations between them and as board all shades between white and the gray in the middle and even a green circle with 50% contour purple mat that enhances the visual sight of the same texture even in the richest now confused with the sight of other white monochrome colors present, but I do not know how to put it! ?

As I enter this arena in Open Arena in that way, with that name and extension and which folder? I'm on a 'Ubuntu ... thanks!

naturally that is interesting! test pointers in any map, you'll notice that are easy to keep an eye unlike the white crosses that are mixed up with the floor! are confused with the sky and prevent a linear held in the center target because it must first seek the white pointer disappeared into the floor lit! These pointers do not ever confuse them completely ... I think most professional of monochromes that there are now, especially the second even if it confuses more with his conformation not cluttered the view for anything and is always within reach of eye! tested and compared with those present in each map ...

no confusion between the pointer and map!

Looks like a useful crosshair, but maybe you should make another that is less complex, like the current OA crosshairs that are white, but with a thin black outline so it can be picked out easier.

Hehe, several things :

1) Do you use a translator ? This is uneasy to read, this is why I said "I don't understand". Otherwise I understand the principle of your crosshair, and it seems nice Wink

2) I think you don't mind, but would you publish your artwork under a GPL (and if possible, BSD-type) license (edit: or better, public domain Cheesy) ?

3) If you want other guys to test your work, ease them the job, and package your crosshairs into some .pk3 file. Which brings me to 4th point.

4) It seems there is a patch to allow OA to use more crosshairs, instead of replacing the standard ones. However, I'm not sure I understood how to make it effective. I renamed your crosshairs with these names :
crosshair60.tga, crosshair61.tga, and so on ...
But I had trouble in making them appearing in game options.
They have to be placed in baseoa/gfx/2d, and can have standard names (as the ones you suggest in your .zip), but they will only work if /sv_pure is set to 0 in that case.

Maybe someone will be able to enlighten us, that would be nice to bring other crosshair shapes into OA. There are also these : http://openarena.ws/board/index.php?topic=1545.0 ; which are not included.

@ PsYthes
colors number does not touch because they are what is needed in order not to be confused with the map (in the case wanted to make a floor striped black and white would interfere prefer!), the form can be changed instead (unless too big )
@ Cacatoes
1) it using Google and FoxLingo from Italian to English
2) I do not know but I made myself with Inkscape enough and if so, declare the GPL, if it can serve (though the colors are important, I recommend)
3 and 4) I replace the meantime because with different names should not be
In any case I made screnn demonstration and a 3 pointer Always gpl in svg and tga, folder dafault has proof of that is confused, the other three three-pointers gpl and the motto is:
For a professional pointer map should not be confused with it (or as little as possible)!

New! I made a 4 and all of them have calibrated their shape and color, this time in this folder are in svg for inkscape (there is also a video with fast pointers): :

in sub-folder files are converted Tga with Gimp

These are the photos with the changes:

I did a test video! same game but different pointer (to be seen in high quality to distinguish pointers):

http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=NUVSzmbxFAs

which is the viewfinder that you lose sight less? the colorful and then improves the removal ... the real match was made with 2 colored cross!
Test on different colors:
