I am running Ubuntu 8.04 , "hardy heron" after I execute openarena, i get really slow response from the mouse coupled with it chages my screen res... and offsets my menus from ubuntu so i can't acess preferences to change th res back to 1280 x 1024...
this is an Xserver prob.. perhaps with the DRi inteface from the HD2400  using the radeon HD2400 i have installed.. any ideas guys

Were you able to run openarena with RadeonHD and an R600 radeon (HD2400)? That would be cool. I thought the drivers were still too immature.

An HD2400 should be more than powerful enough to run OA decently. Are you by any chance using software rendering?

just use fglrx and you'll be fine, unless you are zealous enough to stay away from OMG PROPRIETARY DRIVERS

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.

the open source drivers support this game as well Smiley Just as long as you dont have compiz running.

It's true in most cases, you get what you pay for. I don't knock open source, commercial or controlled products.  Especially after realising open source often ships with lots of pain and frustration.
