When I go to multiplayer and select internet. It gives me the message can't find master server. Someone help me my brothers computer is connecting fine. Im running windows xp

You may try to run openarena-deprecated.exe, and see if it solves the problem.

Try running openarena-legacy. It worked for me too. Game freezes for some reason and it shows "No response from master server", something which didn't happen with the legacy ones.
