Hey,

i have prob after i switch my Graficcard from Nvidia 7300GT (OA works perfectly) to ATI HD 4830 (now ~4fps).

I have a brand new ATI RADEON HD 4830 with the lastes Drivers (02/20/2009) and also the lastes DirectX (9.26).

PC:

- Intel Core Quad 4x2,4
- Asus Motherboard
- Win XP Prof. 32bit SP3
- OA 0.8.1

The Problem:

I open OA and i have already in the Menu not more then ~4 fps.

Grafic Options:

Driver Info Show: Microsoft Standart GDU Driver

also i have tested start OA with a deafuld.cfg but without success.

Console Shows:

Code:

Can you run any other OpenGL games like say the quake 3 demo?

http://ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake3/win32/Q3ADemo.exe

If OpenGL doesn't work, I'd suspect a driver problem. Maybe the Nvidia drivers didn't get completely uninstalled or something when you switched to ATI.

Remove it to a different folder then try again. Or try other executables...

Q3 demo works, so it's not an OpenGL fault...

It says 3/18/2009 on the page.

~80 is not good enough for the Q3 demo either (unless that is the cap).

If newer drivers does not help then try older drivers. Newer drivers are not always better and ATI have a tendency to not test openGL before they ship there drivers.

Maybe they are now optimized for Vista instead?

Have you tried the non-legacy binaries?

asking when OA3 will be done won't get OA3 done.
Progress of OA3 currently occurs behind closed doors alone

I do not provide technical support either.
